Clara now allows you to access your account without typing passwords. By setting up a passkey, you can use your device's biometrics to log in instantly.
What are Passkeys?
A passkey is a modern login method that uses Face ID, Touch ID, or the fingerprint sensor on your phone, tablet, or computer (Windows Hello).
Faster: Forget about waiting for SMS codes or typing long passwords.
More Secure: Your biometric data never leaves your device; Clara never sees or stores it.
Backup: Your current password will still work whenever you need it.
🛠️ How to set up your Passkey
It’s very simple. The next time you log in to Clara with your email and password, you will see a prompt:
Click Set up.
Confirm with your face or fingerprint as requested by your device.
That’s it! Next time, the system will suggest logging in directly with your biometrics.
Owner and Candidate Roles: Configuration is mandatory during your first login after this update to ensure maximum company security. For other roles (Manager, Accountant, Employee), it is optional but highly recommended.
💻 Signing in from another device
If you have your passkey on your phone but want to log in from a new computer:
On the computer, enter your email and select "Use passkey from another device".
Scan the QR code that appears on the screen with your phone's camera.
Confirm with your fingerprint or face on your phone, and you will be logged in automatically on the computer.
👥 Roles and Permissions
All users can set up and use passkeys. The way the configuration prompt works depends on your role:
Owners and Candidates: You will be prompted to set up a passkey when you sign in with your password. This is mandatory to keep your account secure.
All other roles (Managers, Employees, Accountants): You will see the setup prompt after signing in with your password. You can skip it, and you will be reminded again in 30 days.
SSO Users: Users who sign in through their company's Single Sign-On (SSO) provider are not affected—their login flow remains the same.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I lose my phone? Don't worry. Passkeys are synced with your cloud account (iCloud Keychain for Apple or Google Password Manager for Android). If you get a new phone and use the same account, your passkey will be there. Additionally, you can always log in using your traditional password.
Can I still use my password? Yes, but keep in mind that if you use your password in a browser where you already have a passkey, the system might ask for additional verification (MFA). Using the passkey directly is much more efficient.
What if my computer doesn't have a fingerprint reader? No problem. Continue using your password as usual. Passkeys are only activated on devices with compatible biometric hardware.
How do I delete a passkey? You must do this from your device's or browser's password settings. To completely unlink it from your Clara account, please contact our Customer Happiness team.
