At Clara, simplifying expense management is part of our daily work. That’s why we created the Invoice Retrieval feature.
You simply upload a photo of the purchase receipt, and we take care of contacting the merchant to obtain your invoice. Once it’s ready, we automatically attach it to the corresponding transaction.
This feature is exclusively available for customers with active Pro and Enterprise plan subscriptions.
How do I access Invoice Retrieval?
From the Attachments section in any transaction, you can:

Upload a .jpg image of the receipt from your computer.

Choose a photo from your phone’s gallery.

Take a photo directly with your phone’s camera.
You don’t need to do anything else. Clara takes care of the rest.
What are the requirements for the receipt?
In order for us to process your request, the receipt must meet the following criteria:
Requirement | Details |
Legibility | Must be complete and free of blurry, cropped, or pixelated sections. |
Clear instructions | If the merchant includes instructions to generate the invoice, they must appear on the receipt. |
Currency & territory | Only valid for purchases made in Mexico and in Mexican pesos. |
What does Clara do for me?
Once you upload the receipt, Clara handles everything:

We contact the merchant.

We manage the invoice request.

When it’s ready, we send you a push notification.

If successful, the invoice is automatically attached in the Documents section of the transaction.
You’ll also be able to identify it easily with this note:
“Auto-retrieved by Clara Intelligence”
What happens if the receipt is not valid?
If the receipt is incomplete, illegible, or missing important information, we’ll notify you as well. You’ll receive a notification with clear instructions so you can correct it and try again.
Where can I see the process status?
We don’t show a visible status on the platform, but we’ll notify you via push notification at each key stage:

If the receipt is not valid.

If we’ve retrieved the invoice and uploaded it to the transaction.

If you need to take further action.
This way, you’ll always know what’s happening.
